After 22 years in vocational/technical higher education, I learned that college is a springboard to a life of learning. I am privileged to have had the opportunities in my life to work with students from kindergarten to college as a substitute teacher, special education teacher's aide, director of Christian education, college admissions representative, college instructor of professional development, business communication, and human relations;  dean of students;  and finally as an associate campus director and accreditation team leader (ACCSC). In addition to these roles, I have been serving as pastor to Alexis United Presbyterian Church (EPC) for the past seven years.   These experiences have taught me that education is a life-long endeavor.  I owe great debt to my teachers, administrators, pastors, families, and friends with which I have had the pleasure of knowing and working these many years.  I look forward to assisting students of all ages with their learning goals and formal education aspirations.

My students have taught me many lessons over the years, including the meaning of perseverance.  Since 2006, I have worked with university students, trade school students, veterans, community members, and students with disabilities.  My positions have ranged from writing instructor to special education aide to Academic Dean.  While pursuing a teaching license and Master’s degree in English, I attended a small liberal arts college, online university program, and community college – so I am familiar with the many options available to students these days.  In addition, I am an advocate of learning outside of the classroom. AmeriCorps led me to jobs in the National Forest Service and National Park Service.  These experiences made me who I am today, and I look forward to helping students explore and enjoy their own worlds of learning.
